Basic Training
Basic Training is designed to build the everyday skills that make life with your dog easier, more enjoyable, and more rewarding. Whether you’re bringing home a new puppy or helping an older dog refresh their manners, I’ll help you develop clear communication, reliable habits, and a stronger partnership with your dog.
Training is tailored to your dog’s age, personality, and learning style, focusing on the skills that will have the biggest impact in your daily life. Common topics include leash walking, sit, down, stay, recall, polite greetings, settling in the home, impulse control, and other essential manners.
My goal isn’t just to teach your dog commands—it’s to teach you how to train your dog. Throughout each session, I’ll explain the “why” behind the training so you can better understand how your dog learns, communicate more effectively, and continue building lasting results long after our lessons are complete.
Behavioral Training
Behavioral Training is designed for dogs facing challenges beyond basic manners, including reactivity, fear, anxiety, resource guarding, aggression, separation-related behaviors, and other complex concerns that impact daily life.
Every behavior has a reason behind it. Rather than focusing only on stopping unwanted behaviors, I work to understand what is driving them and create a personalized training plan that addresses the underlying causes whenever possible. Because every dog’s history, temperament, and needs are different, each behavior modification program is tailored to the individual dog.
Behavior change requires patience, consistency, and a clear understanding of your dog’s communication. I’ll guide you through the process, helping you recognize body language, make informed training decisions, and develop the skills needed to support lasting progress. My goal is not only to help change your dog’s behavior, but to help you better understand your dog and continue building on that progress long after training is complete.
