About Cobalt Canine

(well, technically its just me, Rose the Dog Trainer)

About Me

Hi, I’m Rose!

I’m the proud owner of Cobalt Canine and a lifelong animal lover. I grew up in North Carolina around horses, working in barns and showing them, and eventually found my true calling with dogs. Training allows me to share my love for animals through connection, education, and a little fun along the way.

I started my dog career at a daycare and boarding facility, caring for up to 200 dogs at a time. In 2023, I graduated from the Master Dog Trainer Program at Highland School for Dog Trainers, an intensive, hands-on six-month course covering nearly everything you can imagine in the canine world. After that, I moved to Kansas City for a dog training apprenticeship, worked with the KC Pet Project shelter, and became a member of the IACP. In late 2024, I started my own business, Cobalt Canine.

While in the Midwest, I found my dog, Nox, a 2-year-old Lab-Heeler mix. He’s a total goofball, but he’s taught me so much about patience, communication, and having fun with training—and I love bringing those lessons to my clients.

Now, I’m back in North Carolina and excited to grow Cobalt Canine! When I’m not training dogs for clients, you’ll find me learning new skills, working with Nox, and dreaming up new ways to help dogs and their humans thrive together.

The Mission

My mission is simple: to help every dog thrive with their forever family and live the happiest, most fulfilling life possible. I aim to prevent dogs from ending up in shelters and to strengthen the bond between humans and their dogs through compassionate, understanding, and effective training.

Education: Highland K9 Master Dog Trainer

Not all dog trainers are created equal. While many learn online, I completed the 6-month Master Dog Trainer Program at Highland School for Dog Trainers, where I gained hands-on experience that sets me apart. I worked directly with dogs across a wide range of disciplines—service dogs, police dogs, sport dogs, and behavior modification cases—learning the ins and outs of real-world training.

My education didn’t stop there. I continue to grow by taking courses, listening to podcasts, collaborating with other trainers, and staying up-to-date on the latest breakthroughs in canine behavior. This commitment ensures your dog gets training that’s not just knowledgeable, but practical, effective, and rooted in experience.
